Humble Beginnings

  • Leaving Italy

    Michael De Filippis leaves Southern Italy with his sister at age 12 to plant roots in America.

  • Welcome to N.Y.

    Michael began selling Customs Brokerage and Freight Forwarding services for an Italian broker from a small office based in Queens, N.Y.

  • CargoTrans Founded

    Michael took a leap of faith and founded CargoTrans!

  • Family Business

    Michael’s son, Nunzio, joined the family business while still in college and introduced Freight Forwarding as a service. Nunzio become a licensed Customs Broker and embraced Michael’s growth mindset.

  • Family Growth

    Nunzio’s brother, Anthony, began supporting Nunzio in various roles, from sales, to finance and operations. Anthony co-founded the De Fili Solutions brand bringing it to the west coast in 2013.

  • Ningbo, China

    The family opened its first global office in Ningbo, China, to support the growing business in China. Today the company has resources based in India, the Philippines, and Colombia.

  • Making the world smaller

    Nunzio and Anthony became partners and owners. They’re excited to carry on their father’s vision of “making the world smaller.”
