Meet Nunzio De Filippis, the Co-CEO of CargoTrans, a second-generation, privately held family business. With a lifelong dedication to logistics, Nunzio has honed his expertise in almost every aspect of the field, from order picking to ERP systems implementation. As a Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) and Supply Chain Strategist, he collaborates with businesses and individuals to elevate their brands by simplifying the shipping process. Having spent over a decade in Operations and Business Development, working with both multimillion-dollar brands and startups, Nunzio recognizes that building genuine connections with those he aims to assist is what truly “makes the world smaller”.

At the heart of Nunzio's accomplishments lies a strong commitment to CargoTrans' core values: Loves People, Authentic & Humble, Gets Stuff Done, Growth-Oriented, and Your Word is Your Bond. These principles have steered him and CargoTrans towards remarkable success.

From a young age, I was excited by other cultures and transportation making faraway places feel close or the world smaller. Our family business, CargoTrans, has long provided a backdrop for my global curiosity. Growing up, I spent countless summers, weekends, and school holidays learning by doing. I began to see our work as more than transporting things, but rather transporting the story of a place to somewhere new. In the process, we improve lives and create global connections.

When it came time for me to begin my college studies, I chose to focus on finance, accounting, and international business at NYU Stern School of Business. I never anticipated returning to our family business CargoTrans, preferring instead to find my own path out in the world. After living abroad and working in finance for several years, however, I became excited about the opportunity to apply what I had learned to our family business.

In 2009, I joined my father and brother Nunzio at CargoTrans. In the same year, I also co-founded our sister business De Fili Solutions (DFS) to drive growth into the warehousing and third-party logistics vertical. I am so proud of the way Nunzio and I have been able to grow and innovate together. I could not be more excited about the future of our business and the ways we will continue to create great experiences for our team, customers, and partners.

Jency has been with the CargoTrans team since May 2011. Jency began her career in Manufacturing and is passionate about purpose and finding the “why” and meaning to work. Jency is a Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) who is committed to fostering a culture of process & people, allowing her to oversee various operational departments within the organization, including Forwarding, Customs Brokerage, IT & 3PL Operations.

Randy joined CargoTrans in August 2022 as the Head of Revenue. In this role, he oversees the sales, marketing, enablement, and procurement teams. Randy has over 25 years of experience building global sales teams, developing go-to-market strategy, and delivering solutions that solve complex supply chain challenges. In short, Randy is responsible for bringing value to our clients and fostering happy relationships. Prior to joining CargoTrans, Randy held a variety of sales leadership positions at BDP International and UPS

Tina joined CargoTrans in October of 2021 as Financial Controller. Tina has over 15 years of accounting and financial experience working in a variety of industries including healthcare, marketing and now logistics and freight forwarding. Tina began her career in public accounting but has spent most of her career in privately owned and operated companies. Most recently, Tina has been promoted to Head of Finance and manages the People team as well.
