INCO: International Commercial Terms

A Reference Guide of Current Transportation Terminology
A series of three-letter trade terms related to common contractual sales practices, the Incoterms rules are intended primarily to clearly communicate the tasks, costs, and risks associated with the transportation and delivery of goods.

They’re used to make sure buyer and seller know:

  • Who is responsible for the cost of transporting the goods, including insurance, taxes and duties
  • Where the goods should be picked up from and transported to
  • Who is responsible for the goods at each step during transportation
