GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Family owned freight forwarder in Valley Stream, N.Y. is looking for a customer service rep. Customer service rep will take orders via phone, emails and EDI system and arrange for import with steamship lines and deliveries with trucking vendors based on client needs.
This position is suited to a detailed oriented individual who can work well in a team environment.
WORK EXPERIENCE / JOB KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
Looking for highly energetic person with pleasant phone manner and ability to multitask.
Knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Outlook required.
Ability to handle heavy email communication.
Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of logistics, shipping or distribution
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
HS Diploma or GED required.
Associates degree preferred.
Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds, occasionally carry objects and walking and/or standing up to two hours per day.
